The 5th Annual Balsall Common Fun Run takes place on Sunday 23rd September 2018 – organised by The Lily Mae Foundation – the local Charity that supports parents and families who have lost a baby to Stillbirth or to Neonatal Death.
The Fun Run starts and finishes at The Heart of England School and aims to be as inclusive as possible, as Fun Run Organiser Geoff Heaps elaborates from the starting point of the event’s slogan: “Walk | Jog | Run | Race”:
“We’re keen to hear from applicants of all ages and abilities and are keen to welcome entrants with unusual requests, for example, to walk with pushchairs or with dogs. We’re very happy to consider accommodating all sorts of applications. We already have a penguin running this year. Working in partnership with Balsall Common Run Club we are now also able to welcome UK Athletics Affiliated runners to take part in our 10K Run that has a UK Athletics Licence.
If running isn’t for you, you can join in the fun by being a marshal on the day and help keep our runners and spectators safe. Please contact me on 07960199184 to find out more.”
The Lily Mae Foundation is very keen to stress their gratitude for support from various partners, local organisations and businesses that are vital to enabling the event to happen each year:
“We’re extremely grateful for all the support we receive each year from the Heart of England School for allowing us to use the School buildings and field on Fun Run Day. The School is a great place to watch all the action and take in the atmosphere. The PTA has also been a great help once again in organising a range of food and drink stalls, including activities for children to get the Day and the Fun Run off to the best of starts. We’re also grateful to our many sponsors and supporters, without whom we couldn’t stage the event.”
