Sandy Ameer-Beg’s highly regarded Acclaimed Mortgage Consultancy was launched from a bedroom in her family home in Balsall Common in 2002, a decade in which many of the industry’s success stories were ultimately tempered by a tumultuous ending caused by the global financial crisis. Perhaps the biggest success for a micro-business in such a market place at the time was to survive it at all. But survive it Sandy did.
After demonstrating the grit, determination and honesty required to survive in uncertain times, an inspired decision to enter into the Equity Release market in 2011 paved the way for Sandy to scoop an impressive sequence of National Awards, in recognition of excellent customer service and sterling work transforming popular market misconceptions.
About Acclaimed Mortgage Consultancy
The origins of Acclaimed Mortgage Consultancy can be traced back to 13th February 2002 when Sandy Ameer-Beg left her role as a Financial Planning Manager in the Banking industry, to start working as a Mortgage Consultant from her bedroom in Balsall Common.
From small beginnings, Sandy began forging her reputation:
After embracing the Equity Release markets at the beginning of the decade, a period of growth ensued which led, in May 2012, to Sandy’s husband Gavin leaving his job to join the business full-time. A sequence of National Awards began to flow soon afterwards in recognition of Sandy’s consistently high standards.
Sandy won the Sole Trader Category at the Equity Release Awards for two consecutive years (in 2013 and 2014), which she followed with runner-up awards in the same category in 2015 and 2016). Sandy returned to the winner’s podium once again when she won the Award outright once again in 2017, to complete a sequence that led to her jumping the fence to become a member of the judging panel for the first time in 2018.

2016 – The Big Move
2016 was a big year for Acclaimed Mortgage Consultancy when the growing operation moved from its specially built home office in Balsall Common to nearby Knowle, after a failed bid to keep their growing business in Balsall Common.
“We did try really hard to keep the business in Balsall Common at the time,” explains Sandy, “but we just couldn’t find anywhere suitable, so we eventually chose offices in Knowle.”
2019 and Beyond
Sandy’s husband Gavin is still on board at Acclaimed, working alongside two administrators at their Knowle office, a team Sandy is hoping to build upon in the near future as the business continues to grow.
