Balsall Common Festival

The Balsall Common Festival is a family-friendly multi-entertainments event, that is staged ‘by the community for the community’. First established in June 2012 as a Fete and Party in the Park in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee, the event underwent a substantial transformation in 2014 on its’ journey to becoming the impressive event that it is today.

In 2017 visitors can expect a fete and entertainments in the Arean during the afternoon, whilst live music pumps from the Main Stage all day and into the evening.

Balsall Common Festival background

“By the Community for the Community”. That’s the spirit and ethos behind this event, run from the outset by volunteers who live, work, or go to school in Balsall Common and outlying areas.

Operating surpluses from this event are distributed to good causes, often with a heavy bias towards organisations that contributed to the success of the event, with helping hands.

Beneficiaries from the 2015 event – which attained a surplus close to £17000 – included: The Lily Mae Foundation; Air Training Cadets (496 Kenilworth and Balsall Common Squadron); IMBA House Charity; Heart of England Retirement Organisation (HERO); Balsall Common Radio; Blessed Robert Grissold Church; 2nd Balsall Common Scouts Group; Balsall Common Brownies; FastAid.
